Mariah Carey Opens Up to Larry King About Emotional Abuse

During a recent appearance on "Larry King Live," Mariah Carey was asked for her thoughts on Rihanna, who endured abuse at the hands of then-boyfriend, Chris Brown. Brown has pleaded guilty to attacking her. Carey was asked if she had ever suffered that type of abuse.

"Abuse has several categories," Carey said.

You've been emotionally abused?" King asked.

"Emotionally, mentally ..." Mariah said.

"Why is it hard to get out of it?" King asked.

"Well, it's scary," Carey said. "You know, I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in if your situation is similar to one of the situations that I've been in which I won't harp on."
