Anthony Sowell was charged with five counts of aggravated murder Nov. 4, 2009, and ordered held without bail at a Cleveland, Ohio, jail. That same day, though, police said they had found at least 10 bodies and the skull of another body at his home and were prepared to take apart the house to look for more potential victims. Cleveland Police Department Chief Michael Grath told reporters, "It appears that this man had an insatiable appetite that he had to fill."
If convicted, Sowell would join a long list of serial killers who have made headlines over the years. Some of the most notorious follow.
