Memphis: Hometown of the King of Rock 'n' Roll

Humes Middle School (formerly Humes High School) in Memphis, Tenn. Humes High School is located at 659 North Manassas Ave. Elvis Presley attended Humes High School and was in the graduating class of 1953. He was reportedly cut from the football team, but won a talent contest that earned him the respect of his classmates. It is now a middle school. (Flickr/michaelwfreem)
